MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Do you have a youngster that dreams of playing basketball with top-level collegiate athletes? Well here is his or her chance to do so as the Georgia College women’s basketball team invites local boys and girls to the third season of the Junior Bobcat Basketball League (JBBL).
The camp intro and clinic will be held Sunday, Sept. 9 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Centennial Center, followed by an hour of games from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The league will then have practices and games Sept. 16, Sept. 23, and Sept. 30 with each session running from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The main focus of the JBBL is to teach fundamentals of the game and also help develop an interest in basketball, all while having a good time. The 5-v-5 games will be grouped by age, and players from the Bobcat women’s basketball team will coach the kids.
Boys and girls between the ages 6-14 are encouraged to join. JBBL participants will receive a JBBL team shirt, a powerade bottle, a complementary pass to a Bobcat basketball game, and get to be part of a pizza party with the women’s basketball team. The total cost for everything that comes with joining the JBBL is just $75.
