Bobcat Athletics to Host Gymnastics Day Saturday

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Department of Athletics plans to honor its past Saturday, Jan. 22 as part of the Bobcat basketball doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Centennial Center. Bobcat athletics will host Gymnastics Day, honoring the school’s National Championships, and the impact on local youth gymnastics.

Bobcat Director of Athletics Wendell Staton will present former GC gymnastics coach Geza Martiny with a pair of championship banners that will be hung in the rafters of the Centennial Center, the home of GC Athletics.

In addition to that presentation, GC Athletics Hall of Fame gymnast Missy (Thomas) Swicord will bring her Lake Country Gymnastics youngsters to perform at the halftimes of both the men’s and women’s games.
