Okvist, Bick, Fox Take in Honors at GC Athletics’ Senior Banquet
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Department of Athletics held its annual Senior Awards Banquet Wednesday night, handing out the year-end honors during finals week.
Bick also won the John Kurtz Award for most outstanding baseball senior, while Bryan Fox (Roswell, Ga.) earned the Dr. J. Michael Peeler Award for most outstanding golf senior.
Bick was a unanimous All-Southeast Region shortstop last season, picking up an All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) First Team slot as well. The senior was put on the Tino Martinez Watch List for 2014, the honor given out to the top Division II baseball player in the country.
Okvist was a First Team All-American in 2012, earning slots on the All-Southeast Region teams twice. The four-time All-PBC honoree ranks fifth in Division II history in stolen bases, owning the Bobcat records in that category as well as hits and runs scored.
Fox was an All-PBC First Team selection this season, finishing as tournament runner up at three different tournaments this season.
