Bobcat Baseball Alum Returns as Graduate Assistant

Charlie Hecht

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — The Georgia College Athletic Department welcomed Charlie Hecht as a graduate assistant beginning this past fall.

As a graduate assistant Hecht has assisted in the areas of compliance work as well as marketing and promotions efforts.

“Hiring Charlie was a no-brainer,” said Associate Director of Athletics Jimmy Wilson. “As a person and an athlete, Charlie exemplifies the GC way. He is a very determined, yet very personable young man who lives and breathes Georgia College.

“No task assigned to Charlie seems to be too small or too large. The fact that he played here and graduated from here gives him extra credibility with the student-athletes and coaches alike. He has been a huge asset to our department and we are very fortunate to have him involved within our program."

Hecht, who graduated from Georgia College in 2018 with a degree in Marketing, played baseball for four years for the Bobcats. A right-handed pitcher, Hecht was part of three conference tournament-winning teams.

A 2018 All-American and consensus Region Pitcher of the Year, he owns the school record for career strikeouts, and finished fifth in innings pitched and fourth in career wins in school history.

In addition to compliance work, Hecht also helps market athletic events, including playing and integral role with the two Tailgate Tours this semester.

Hecht is pursuing his Masters of Logistics at Georgia College.
