INDIANAPOLIS – For the second straight season and ninth time in school history, the Georgia College & State University baseball team (35-15) was chosen as one of the six teams in the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament, the NCAA announced late Sunday. The tournament will be at Francis Marion University’s Clifford S. Cormell Field in Florence, S.C. from May 13-16.
The No. 8-ranked and No. 3-seed Bobcats will take on No. 6-ranked and No. 4-seed Mount Olive College (40-9) Thursday at 11 a.m. to kick off the tournament. At 3 p.m. No. 10-ranked and No. 2-seed Columbus State University (42-10) battles No. 23-ranked and No. 5-seed Catawba College (40-11), while No. 5-ranked and top-seed host FMU faces No. 20-ranked and No. 6-seed Erskine College at 7 p.m.
The double elimination tournament has tickets available at the door, $8 for adults and $5 for students. As always, postseason baseball is broadcast on the HomeTeam, Country 102.3FM WKZR and ESPNRadio 1450AM WMVG.
