NEWBERY, S.C. – The No. 24 Georgia College baseball team (25-14) got out of their funk in a big way Tuesday, beating up on Newberry College (20-23) 10-1. The victory ended a four-game slide for The Bobcats.
GC fired on all cylinders, pounding out 13 hits while surrendering just three and not committing an error.
The Bobcats scored in all but three innings, putting up nine runs before the Wolves could answer.
Rightfielder Shawn Ward (Evans, Ga.) was 3-for-6 with two home runs, driving in three and scoring twice. Centerfielder Patrick Daugherty (Kennesaw, Ga.) set the table well, going 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI from the leadoff spot.
