Bobcat Baseball Moves Up in National Poll, Stays Put in Region

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College baseball team (32-15, 12-9 PBC) used a mid-week victory over Valdosta State University (18-21), along with a 3-1 series win over Erskine College (27-21) to propel up multiple national polls.
The Bobcats moved up two spots to No. 19 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II poll.
In the College Baseball Lineup Division II National Poll the 'Cats moved to No. 18, three spots higher than last week.
Georgia College stayed put at No. 8 in the NCAA Southeast Region Rankings, sitting closely behind Limestone College (32-16) and Peach Belt Conference member UNC Pembroke (33-10).
The NCAA Southeast Region Rankings help determine the three at-large teams that will participate in the NCAA Regional Tournament, along with the three conference winners.
Mount Olive College stays at the top spot in the region, clinching their spot in the NCAA Regional Tournament with their Conference Carolinas Conference Championship.
Wingate University (34-20) has also clinched a spot in the Regional Tournament after winning the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Tournament.
The Bobcats will play host to Southeast Region No. 5 Armstrong Atlantic in a crucial three-game set beginning Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m.
