MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College baseball program owns an 11-4 overall mark, and wins over three nationally-ranked opponents early in the 2014 season, and has been rewarded with jumps in all four Division II Baseball National Ranking lists.
The highest position for GC baseball comes from both College Baseball Lineup (CBL) and D2BaseballNews.com, (D2BBN) as the Bobcats are No. 14. In the D2BBN poll, the Bobcats are second among the four Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools in that ranking, behind only No. 8 Lander University.
In the CBL poll, the Bobcats moved up eight spots, going 3-1 last week, to No. 14. Georgia College is third among PBC schools in this listing, behind No. 3 Lander and No. 9 USC Aiken.
For the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA), the national poll consisted of three PBC teams including Georgia College. The Bobcats stole the No. 19 spot for their first ranking of the 2014 season. Lander took the highest position at No. 4 and USC Aiken finished off the top 10.
Georgia College moved three slots in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (CBN) poll, lifting to No. 26 after a 3-1 mark last week. The Bobcats are again third among PBC schools, behind No. 6 Lander and No. 14 USC Aiken.
