#6 Bobcat Baseball Wins Shootout at Erskine, 18-7

DUE WEST, S.C. – The No. 6 Georgia College baseball team (25-5) pounded out 18 hits en route to a 18-7 victory at Erskine College (21-10) Wednesday afternoon. Junior Kaleb Holbrook (Dawsonville, Ga.) tagged the first home run of his Bobcat career in the blowout.

A nine-run second inning helped the Bobcats take over the game, not looking back the rest of the way.

First baseman Clay Ardeeser (Loganville, Ga.) led the barrage, going 4-for-6 with three RBI and three runs. The junior ripped a pair of doubles on the day. Designated hitter Taylor Hinshaw (Winder, Ga.) drove in five runs as part of a 2-for-4 effort, scoring a pair as well. The senior slugger hit his fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot in the sixth.

Rob Hogenkamp (St. Louis) had three hits in four trips, scoring three runs and driving in two more. Senior catcher Joe Scott (Warner Robins, Ga.) had one of the best games of his career, going 2-for-2, scoring three runs and driving in one. Second baseman Brandon Benson (Loganville, Ga.) and leftfielder Ryan Sabalaskey (Carol Stream, Ill.) each tallied two hits, as both men scored twice and added an RBI apiece.

Holbrook pinch hit in the ninth, ripping a solo shot. The junior is in his first season with the Bobcats, transferring in from South Georgia College.

Seven Bobcat pitchers divided the game, with three tossing scoreless outings. Dallas Draviczki (Mission Viejo, Calif.) went two hitless innings, allowing a pair of walks, while both Micah Thompson (Tallapoosa, Ga.) and Jordan Modine (Ft. Pierce, Fla.) added a scoreless frame each.

The Bobcats have now won six in a row, and 15 of their last 16. Georgia College is 13-1 on the road this season.
