MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Clay Ardeeser (Loganville, Ga.) of the No. 12 Georgia College baseball team was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week, for his efforts during the week ending April 6. This marks the first such award for Ardeeser and the second for the Bobcat baseball squad this season.
Ardeeser hit 9-for-15 (.600) in a breakthrough week, with four of his nine hits going for doubles. The junior tallied eight RBI, adding eight runs scored as well. His week started with a bang, going 4-for-6 with two doubles, four RBI and three runs in a win at Erskine College.
He was also instrumental in the Bobcats' win over #25 Columbus State Saturday, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI in the doubleheader opener. In the final game of the series, the Cougar pitchers wised up, as Ardeeser had no official at-bats, tallying a sacrifice fly and four walks.
Ardeeser is second in the PBC in batting average (.438), seventh in doubles (15), eighth in hits (57), third in on-base percentage (.507) and 10th in slugging (.631).
