AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released the 2014 PBC Baseball Championship Tournament bracket, with Defending Champion Georgia College (33-14) and head coach Tom Carty picking up the No. 4-seed.
The Bobcats finished 19-10 in PBC games, just percentage points out of third place held by host USC Aiken at 20-10.
Georgia College takes on No. 5-seed UNC Pembroke (33-17) Saturday, May 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Roberto Hernandez Field in Aiken, S.C.
No. 1-seed Lander University (43-6) faces No. 8-seed Francis Marion University (27-21) at 10 a.m., with No. 3-seed USCA (36-14) and No. 6-seed Armstrong Atlantic State University (27-19) at 5 p.m. and No. 2-Columbus State University (36-14) taking on No. 7-seed University of Montevallo (29-20) at 8:30 p.m. in the single-elimination tournament.
The Bobcats took the regular-season series from the Braves March 1-2, sweeping doubleheader action 9-6 and 12-6 before UNCP got one back 9-8.
As the No. 7-seed in 2013, the Bobcats ran through CSU, FMU, UNCP and then beat UM in the finals for Georgia College's first PBC Baseball Tournament Championship.
