MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Brandon Purcell (Glennville) of the No. 6 Georgia College Baseball team (39-10, 26-4 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for his efforts during the week ending May 6.
Purcell went 5-for-10 (.500) in the series with Winston-Salem State University, driving in five and scoring five times. He had multi-hit games in two of the three. On Friday, he was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, and three runs scored. He also had a double and a pair of RBIs Saturday. He was a perfect 2-2 in steals for the week, and gunned down two runners attempting to steal.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. taking on Lander University in the pool play round of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
