Sassy Cats Take Ninth at Nationals
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Georgia College & State University's dance team, the Sassy Cats, recently took ninth at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Championships over the weekend of Jan. 18.
The 12-member squad, under the leadership of advisor Doris Henderson and captain Charlotte Ballard, picked up their best finish in the club's history. The dancers improved five slots from a 14th place finish a year ago.
The next competition for the Sassy Cats will be at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships in early March.
The GCSU Department of Athletics, winners of the 2008-09 PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
