MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - GolfStat.com released its final NCAA Division II Head-to-Head National Rankings recently, with Georgia College & State University taking the No. 4 slot.
The Bobcats had a 187-3 Division II record, owning a 73.21 adjusted scoring average. Georgia College was second among Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools, as Columbus State University took second.
Sonoma State University was first, with Cal State-San Bernadino coming in third. Fellow PBC school USC Aiken was ninth.
The Bobcats had two Division II tournament victories, taking the Bobcat Invitational outright and coming in second to Division I Georgia Southern University at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate in the fall season.
The 2009 season was another stellar one for one of the most decorated programs in school history. The Bobcats took fifth at the NCAA Finals, the fifth time in the last six years Georgia College has played for the Division II title, all coming under head coach Jimmy Wilson. Both Niclas Johansson (Skanor, Sweden) and Joe Young (Cochran, Ga.) earned All-PBC status for the second-straight season.
