EATONTON, Ga. – No. 6 Georgia College Golf is gearing up to host their annual Bobcat Invitational Tournament at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee March 21-22 featuring some of the nation’s top teams.
The tournament this year will feature seventeen teams, thirteen of which are among the nation’s top-30 according to Golfstat Division II Head-to-Head rankings. Of those teams, five are in the top-10.
At the top of the pack is No. 4 University of West Florida followed by No. 5 Lynn University. Next up is the host No. 6 Georgia College with The University of North Alabama right behind at No. 7. Rounding up the top ten is No. 8 Barry University.
Also in the top-30 are Peach Belt Conference opponents No. 13 Columbus State University and No. 15 Armstrong Atlantic State University. Behind them is No. 19 Nova Southeastern University. Starting of the 20’s is No. 20 Rollins College, closely followed by No. 21 Valdosta State University and No. 22 USC Aiken. Trailing off the top-30 are No. 26 UNC Pembroke and No. 30 Florida Southern College.
Also featured in the tournament are Lander University, Belmont Abbey College, Carson-Newman College and Clayton State University.
GC is looking to improve on a sixth-place finish at this tournament a year ago. Last year’s winner was Lynn University, edging Belmont Abbey by just a pair of strokes. The individual champion was BAC’s Peter Tarver Jones, who returns to the Crusaders for his senior season.
Action begins at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla in Eatonton, Ga. Monday, March 21.
