MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - After first being named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Golfer of the Week, senior Billy Shida (Berkeley Lakes, Ga.) has added Georgia College Athlete of the Week honors Wednesday.
Shida helped lead the No. 15 Georgia College golf team to a second-place finish at the Matlock Collegiate Classic. He won the individual tournament by five strokes, posting three straight sub-70 rounds (67-69-69).
His remarkable three-day run marked the first time since 1995 a golfer at the Matlock posted three rounds in the 60’s.
Shida and the Bobcat golf team return to action when the travel to the Argonaut Invitational Monday, Feb. 28 at the University of West Florida.
