MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Patrick Garrett (Kennesaw, Ga.) of the No. 22 Georgia College golf team was selected the most recent Bobcat Athlete of the Week. This marks the second such honor this season for both Garrett and Bobcat golf this season.
Garrett blistered the course with a second-round 66, paired with his 71 in round one for five-under par to take the 2012 Armstrong Pirate Invitational Championship. He beat the field by four strokes for his second career tournament win. The 66 shot by Garrett also tied a tournament low round in the 11-year history of the Pirate Invitational, matching the 66 shot by Brandon Kuban of Columbus State University in 2005. Garrett led the Bobcats to the team title as well, beating the field by 15 strokes.
The Bobcats will travel to the Southern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State University, for their next tournament, March 12-13.
