NEW YORK – After a third-place finish at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship, the Georgia College golf team leapt four spots to 16th in the most recent GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II Coaches Poll, the Golf Coaches Association (GCAA) announced Wednesday.
The ranking gives GC a steady incline over the past three polls. The Bobcats have been ranked in every GCAA poll this season.
Georgia College is third among the five PBC schools listed, as UNC Pembroke is No. 9, and USC Aiken No. 13. Armstrong follows the Bobcats in 18th, with Georgia Southwestern State University one slot behind. Barry University retained the No. 1 overall spot.
The Bobcats are awaiting the Friday, April 27 seeding announcement for the 2012 South/Southeast NCAA SuperRegional, set to begin May 7.
