MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The NCAA announced the 2012 Division II Golf SuperRegional fields Friday, and No. 21 Georgia College has earned an at large bid to the South/Southeast SuperRegional to be held at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C.
The 20-team field begins competition May 7-9, with the top-five advancing to the NCAA Finals in Louisville, Ky. May 15.
GC took the third seed in the Southeast Region. Other Southeast Region teams are No. 1 UNC Pembroke and No. 2 USC Aiken. Wingate University, the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) champion was fourth, with Georgia Southwestern State University in fifth and Armstrong sixth.
Carson-Newman College is seventh, Barton College eighth, Columbus State University ninth and Conference Carolinas Champion Coker College takes the final spot.
The Bobcats last won this tournament in 2008. Georgia College has advanced to the NCAA Finals eight times in school history, the most recent being 2009.
