NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Georgia College golf team was tabbed No. 14 in the Men’s Division II Preseason Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches’ Poll.
GC golf garnered 202 points in the poll, only eight behind Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe Columbus State University. Other notable PBC teams in the top-25 poll are No. 18 USC Aiken, No. 19 Armstrong and No. 23 Flagler College.
Abilene Christian University took the top spot with 382 points, followed by NCAA runner-up Lynn University with 376. Chico State University rounds out the top three, falling six points short of Lynn. Defending NCAA Champion, CSU-Monterey Bay, sits at No. 6.
The golf team opens up Monday, Sep. 5 for a two-day tournament at the Kiawah Island Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C., hosted by USC Aiken.
