MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 14 Georgia College golf program begins the 2013 spring schedule Monday, Feb. 11 at the Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla. The two-day tournament will conclude the following day.

Hosted by Florida Southern College at the Lone Palm Course, the Bobcats look to improve on their eighth place finish from a year ago. When the tournament begins Monday, the Bobcats will have three All-Americans on the roster. Taylor Smith (Mansfield, Ga.), Ryan Trocchio (Norcross, Ga.) and Patrick Garrett (Kennesaw, Ga.) were selected among the nation’s best in 2012 and look to remain consistent in 2013. While Smith and Trocchio were Honorable Mentions to the All-American team, Garrett was selected for Third Team honors. Smith and Garrett also brought home All-Region honors last year, and Trocchio was the first Bobcat in history to be named to the National All-Freshman Team.

After the tournament in Lakeland, the Bobcats will head to Savannah, Ga. for the Pirate Invitational on Feb. 25 and 26 looking to repeat as champions from a year ago. From there, GC golf team travels to Valdosta, Ga. on Mar. 11 and 12 for the Southeastern Intercollegiate.
