MILLEGEVILLE, Ga. –Senior Patrick Garrett (Kennesaw, Ga.) of the No.14 Georgia College golf team was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 4.
Garrett finished tied for the individual lead in a tough field at the Rollins College McDonough Cup this week. GC finished ninth out of the 18 schools that participated.
Battling the elements, he shot a final round of even par 72 on Tuesday after posting scores of 74 and 72 on Monday. He finished 2 over par, which was good enough for a four-way tie at the top of the field. Lynn University’s Daniel Young separated from the pack during the playoff to win the individual title.
Garrett has three top-20 finishes in four tournaments thus far. He hopes to lead the Bobcats when they return to action in February for the Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
