MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Freshman Nicolas Falkinhoff (Buenos Aires, Argentina) of the No. 15 Georgia College golf team was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week, after his outstanding performance during the week ending April 20.
Falkinhoff responded well to the intensity of his first postseason tournament opportunity, leading the Bobcats to a runner-up finish at the 2014 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament. He placed third among 55 golfers carding a 71, three strokes off the lead, and was one of just six golfers under par for the tournament.
The rookie owns a 75.5 stroke average, and has placed in the top-five in two tournaments this season. The first came during the Bearcat Classic in Greenwood, S.C. Falkinhoff finished fourth overall with a 214, and two strokes under par.
