MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University men's basketball team (22-5) and head coach Terry Sellers earned the No. 2 slot in the most recent NCAA Southeast Region rankings, sent out Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats climb a spot to second after finishing the regular season with four straight victories. The poll was released before Georgia College's 77-66 loss to Clayton State University Wednesday.
Ranked second among the three Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools in the list, the Bobcats are behind No. 1 Augusta State University and ahead of No. 8 University of Montevallo. Mount Olive College is listed third, with Catawba College No. 4 and Limestone College fifth. This poll is used to determine the five at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament later this month.
The Bobcats will await selection for the 2010 NCAA Tournament, announced via webcast at NCAA.com Sunday, March 8.
