MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Junior guard Andre Mikell (Snellville, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University men's basketball team (6-1) was named GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 20. This is the first such honor for Mikell and the fourth for the Bobcat men's basketball team this season.
Going 6-of-8 from the floor en route to a career-best 17 points, Mikell provided the spark the Bobcats needed to pull out a thrilling 77-76 win at Newberry College Tuesday. The reserve guard had four assists, three steals, a pair of boards and a block on the evening's effort.
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Dec. 29 in day one of the AASU/Hampton Inn Holiday Classic in Savannah, Ga. Georgia College faces Wingate University at 5 p.m.
