MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s basketball team (16-10) was listed at No. 10 in the most recent NCAA Southeast Region Rankings, released Wednesday, March 3. The poll is used to determine the five at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament later this month.
The Bobcats finished the season with an opening-round Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament at the University of Montevallo 74-68 Tuesday.
Georgia College excelled at defense and rebounding this season, ranking 37th in defensive field goal percentage (.420) and in rebound margin (5.0).
Junior Ryan Aquino (Roswell, Ga.) is the team’s lead rebounder at 8.1 per game, ranking 66th in the country. Leading the defense was senior forward Reece Wiedeman (Suwanee, Ga.) at 1.4 blocks per game, good for 68th in the nation. Wiedeman is also 68th in field goal percentage at .537.
