MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Mike Augustine (Waterloo, Ill.) of the Georgia College men’s basketball team (12-7, 5-5 PBC) was named the most recent Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 29. This marks the first such honor for Augustine and the sixth for Bobcat men’s hoops this season.
Augustine led four Bobcat scorers in double figures in the team's only game this week, a victory over Lander University at home. The senior wing hit 5-of-6 from the floor en route to 17 points, adding four rebounds a block and a steal.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3:30 p.m., hosting Georgia Southwestern State University for “March of Dimes Day” in the Centennial Center. Saturday is “Showcase Saturday” for Bobcat Athletics, highlighting four of the school’s 10 varsity teams in action at home.
