GC Men’s Basketball Adds Transfer Guard

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s basketball program and head coach Terry Sellers announced the addition of Terrell Harris Monday.

Harris, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard, transfers to Georgia College from Mars Hill College. He is orginially from Indiantown, Fla. where he played at Dwyer High School.

“Terrell is a scorer and a competitor,” said Sellers. “We are excited that he decided to join our program. With the departure of senior Jared Holmes, who started every game the last two seasons, the addition of a scorer like Terrell excites us. We expect him to make an immediate impact in our program.”

Terrell averaged 19.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and shot 55 percent from the field a year ago as a freshman at Mars Hill. The 19.2 scoring clip per game placed him third overall in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). He also finished third in the SAC in steals (1.6), fifth in offensive rebounds (2.3) and third in minutes played (33). He was named to the SAC All-Freshman Team.

The Bobcats played MHC this past season in a neutral-site tournament, and Harris scored 21 points with six rebounds.

The Bobcats are fresh off a 17-10 season finishing fifth in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC). The Bobcats lose three seniors including First Team All-Region and All-PBC forward Ryan Aquino, Holmes and Mike Augustine.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. As a Division II program, Bobcat Athletics prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the teams' multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
