Bobcat Men’s Basketball Releases 2011-12 Schedule

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s basketball team and head coach Terry Sellers announced their 2011-12 schedule Thursday. The season kicks off as it has the past few years with a highly-anticipated exhibition matchup at nearby Division I foe Mercer University Nov. 3.

The Bobcats begin the regular season on the road, playing in a tournament at Newberry College. GC will face Lee University Friday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. and take on either Newberry or Salem International Saturday.

The home slate starts with three contests wrapped around Thanksgiving, battling Anderson University Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m., Brewton Parker College Saturday, Nov. 26 at 3:30 p.m. and Carver Bible College Monday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

The PBC schedule begins in December, as GC travels to North Georgia on the 14th at 7:30 p.m.

The ‘Cats have a brutal three-game PBC road stretch to start the New Year. GC travels to take on Columbus State University, followed by Flagler College and Armstrong within a five-day period.

Reigning PBC Champions Augusta State University visit Milledgeville once again this season, after the Bobcats dismantled the then-No.7 Jaguars 73-69 on Senior Day. The Jaguars come to Milledgeville Wednesday, Jan. 18 for the “Battle of the Cats”, set for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.

GC will celebrate Senior Day against North Georgia Wednesday, Feb. 15, after hosting Columbus State Feb. 11 for Homecoming.

Georgia College finished 16-10 overall and 10-7 in the PBC last year, and look to improve this year on their way to competing in the PBC Tournament in Columbus, Ga. March 1-4.
