Bobcat Men Drop Homecoming Game, 66-52

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.  – The Georgia College men's basketball team (8-16, 4-13 PBC) dropped its Annual Homecoming Game 66-52 to division-leading University of Montevallo (17-8, 13-5 PBC) Saturday night.

Senior Tarrence Chatman (Macon, Ga.) netted 11 points as the team's lone double-digit scorer, hitting 6-for-6 from the charity stripe. The effort marks the first time in his career that Chatman has led the Bobcats in scoring,

Classmate Scott Ferguson (Roswell, Ga.) had eight points with a game-high eight rebounds, while junior Royal Thomas (LaGrange, Ga.) added eight to the cause as well.

The Bobcats were out-shot 50 percent (25-50) to 30 percent (16-54) from the floor, and out-rebounded 42-26. The Bobcats kept the game close by committing just eight turnovers while causing 16.

Drico Hightower led the Falcons with 24 points and seven rebounds. He was flanked by 15 points from Troran Brown and 11 from Marvin Fitzgerald.

The Bobcats hit the road to Lander University (8-16, 3-14 PBC) Thursday, Feb. 28 for a 7:30 p.m. tip. The Bearcats most recently lost to the University of North Georgia today, 82-78.
