GC Men’s Basketball to Host 11 Home Games in 2012-13

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – With the Georgia College men’s basketball season set to get started Saturday, Nov. 10 at the McDonald Fleming Moorhead Tip-Off Classic at the University of West Florida, Bobcat men’s hoops has a 26-game schedule with 11 contests coming at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats take on one ranked opponent, battling No. 11 University of Montevallo twice. Four NCAA Tournament Participants also dot the schedule, as Montevallo joins two battles with Columbus State University and a single contest each at USC Aiken and Anderson University.

The Bobcats square off with Palm Beach Atlantic to start the season Saturday, then take on host UWF Sunday, both contests scheduled for 5 p.m. eastern.

After another road contest at Clark-Atlanta University Nov. 20, the Panthers return the favor by serving as the first home game for GC men’s basketball, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schedule kicks off at home as well, with GC hosting Georgia Southwestern State University Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Francis Marion University Dec. 15 at 3:30 p.m.

The Battle of the Cats III rivalry game between the Bobcats and Augusta State University will take place in Augusta, Ga. for the first time in its three-year existence, as the squads face off Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The annual Homecoming contest will be Saturday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 p.m., as GC hosts Montevallo. Bobcat Senior Day is slated for a Saturday as well, coming March 2 as GC hosts Armstrong for the final regular-season contest.

The PBC Tournament, once again hosted by Columbus State University, is scheduled for March 7-10.
