ROME, Ga. – Paced by 22 points from senior forward Isaac Thomas (Trion), the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (3-1) beat Shorter University (1-3) 81-73 Saturday, extending the Bobcats' winning streak to three.
Isaac Thomas hit 8-for-13 from the field and 6-for-9 from the free-throw line and nabbed nine boards.
Sophomore Chapin Rierson (Calhoun) and junior Kohl Roberts (Atlanta) added 14 points each, the latter grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the year. Sophomore Jordan Thomas (Conyers) added 11 points to the cause.
The Bobcats out-shot the Hawks 49 percent (25-51) to 43 percent (25-58), with the real difference coming at the free-throw line, where Georgia College got 22 points to just 16 for Shorter. The GC Men had a plus-10 in points-off-turnovers as well, 27-17.
The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m., traveling to Albany State University.
