GREENWOOD, S.C. – Despite an improved second half, the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (4-4, 0-3 PBC) fell 82-74 Tuesday night at Lander University (2-6, 1-1 PBC).

The Bobcats trailed by 10 at the half, 39-29. Making some adjustments and getting 12 second-half points from junior Kohl Roberts (Atlanta, Georgia) the Bobcats battled back, even taking the lead 46-44 on a Wesley Simpson (McDonough, Georgia) layup at the 14:33 mark.

The two teams pushed back and forth for the remainder of the contest, but the Bearcats went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line and knocked down a huge three-pointer all in the last 1:14 to pull away.

Roberts finished with a team-best 18 points, adding seven rebounds and four blocks. Sophomore Jordan Thomas (Conyers, Georgia) added 11 points, his first bucket putting him over 500 career points.

Classmate Chapin Rierson (Calhoun, Georgia) had 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting, his fourth double-digit scoring game this season. Simpson finished with seven points as a reserve, going 3-for-4 from the field.

Lander took advantage of the home cooking, out-shooting the Bobcats 53 percent (30-57) to 49 percent (32-66) overall. The Bearcats did a lot of damage from the charity stripe, tallying more free-throw makes (16) than the Bobcats had attempts (10).

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m., playing host to Albany State University in non-conference action.
