MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Seniors Justin Pickham (Armidale, Australia) and Erick Siqueira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) of the Georgia College & State University men's tennis team were named Co-GCSU Athlete of the Week, the sports information office announced today (Oct. 21). The award honors the top performance by a Bobcat during the week ending Oct. 19. This is the second such honor for Pickham and the third for both Siqueira and the Bobcat men's tennis team this season.
Siqueira teamed with Pickham to take the runner-up spot in the ITA Division II Doubles Championship, the first Bobcat men's duo to make it to the ITA championship game in school history. The Bobcat duo picked up two wins on day one, buzzing through BYU-Hawaii 6-2, 6-4. In round two, they picked up a three-set win over Concordia College 6-2, 3-6, 11-9. The Bobcat pair was felled by Lynn University in a three-set marathon for the title.
