MACON, Ga. – The No. 12 Georgia College men's tennis team (5-0, 1-0 PBC) dominated the SCAD Bees (1-1), 9-0 to remain undefeated.
The Bobcats flew to a 3-0 lead after the doubles competition. Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) edged out Dean Loock and Kaan Yaylali, 9-8. Leo Bernardes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Tyler Franks (Greensboro, Ga.) downed Matthew Mihai Draganescu and Noah Moerkerken, 8-3. Tobias Rausch (Mannheim, Germany) and Robert Angelucci (Acworth, Ga.) toppled Darnell Sgubin and Romeo Juhasz, 8-4.
The Bobcats' didn't show any signs of struggle all afternoon, sweeping the singles portion of the competition. Wadstein edged Loock, 7-5, 6-4. No. 16 Leborgne rebounded after three straight losses with a victory over Yaylali in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5. In third singles Bernardes toppled Juhasz, 6-1, 6-2.
Rausch had yet another strong performance downing Draganescu, 6-1, 6-3. Franks played in the five spot picking up another win over Sgubin, 6-4, 6-4. Wictor Andersson (Helsinborg, Sweden) got the better of Moerkerken in a three-set marathon, 3-6, 6-2, 10-8.
GC has now won seven-straight regular season matches.
The Bobcats play their next match at No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic Sunday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m.
