GC Men’s Tennis Earns No. 4-Seed at NCAA Regional, Start Sunday
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Georgia College men's tennis team (18-6) earned a NCAA Regional bid for the seventh year in a row, being given the No. 4-seed in the Southeast Region. The Bobcats will start the regional Sunday, April 28 against the No. 5-seed Francis Marion University (15-8) who the Bobcats defeated earlier in the year by a score of 8-1.
The No. 8-seed Limestone College (13-6) and No. 9-seed Lincoln Memorial University (11-5) will face off Saturday, April 27 with the winner playing the No. 1-seed Armstrong (22-1) the following day.
The Bobcats have made the NCAA Regionals 14 times, including seven years in a row. In 2009 the team won a Sub-Regional Championship and advanced to Nationals, falling in the quarterfinal round.
Last season, the Bobcats beat FMU 5-2 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, falling in round two to Armstrong 5-0.
