MILLEDGEVILLE,
Ga. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team
will start their spring season when they travel to Morehouse
College Friday afternoon. The Bobcats were ranked No. 16 in the
2012-13 ITA Preseason National Rankings.
The Bobcats finished the 2012 spring season with a 12-9 record
overall and a 4-5 record in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play. The
year included a trip to the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament.
The Bobcats will feature six new members of the team, five
freshmen and one junior. Three of the new members are international
students, freshmen Yannick
Haas (Troisdorf, Germany) and Mattia
Campus (Rome, Italy), as well as junior Andreas
Ainalides (Heusenstamm, Germany).
On a team with many new members seniorJohan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) returns
after being named a 2012 All-American in doubles during his junior
year.
The Bobcats first home game will be Tuesday, Feb. 12 when they
welcome the Augusta State Jaguars to the Centennial Center Tennis
Facility.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of
the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs
