PBC Tennis Tournament Cancels Backdraw Due to Rain
FLORENCE, S.C. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) has cancelled the backdraw of the 2014 Tennis Tournament because of rains in the area. The Georgia College men’s tennis third-place matchup with Lander University has been cancelled.

FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 21 Georgia College men's tennis team (14-7) couldn’t get by the No. 1-seed No. 14 Columbus State University (18-5) in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Friday at the Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center. The Bobcats finished 1-2 at doubles before dropping the match 5-1.

#21 GC Men’s Tennis Team Advances in PBC Tournament with 5-0 Win Over #23 GRU
FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 21 Georgia College men's tennis team (14-6) avenged an earlier season loss to Georgia Regents University Augusta (16-6) by blanking the Jaguars 5-0 when it counted most in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Thursday at the Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center. The Bobcats finished 3-0 at doubles and then took the first two wins at singles with the rest of the slate going unfinished.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 21 Georgia College men's tennis team (13-6, 6-4 PBC) had its eight-match home win streak snapped by No. 7 Lander University (15-3, 9-1 PBC) Sunday at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. The Bobcats fell to 8-1 at home for the season by an 8-1 score on Senior Day as they prepare for the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament next week.

The Bobcats completed their second of three Peach Belt Conference (PBC) home matches in a four-day span with tomorrow’s Senior Day match remaining.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 21 Georgia College men's tennis team (11-5, 4-3 PBC) had their three-game winning streak snapped at No. 5 Armstrong Atlantic State University (11-6, 7-1 PBC) Tuesday at Bacon Park. The Pirates were coming off their first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) loss since 2009 and rebounded with a 9-0 win over the Bobcats.

FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 21 Georgia College men's tennis team (11-4, 4-2 PBC) extended their winning streak to three with a 5-3 road victory at No. 29 Francis Marion University (7-5, 4-4 PBC) Sunday at the Kassab Courts. The team has now won for the third-consecutive Sunday as it prepares for a grueling upcoming week that entails four nationally-ranked Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams in a five-day span.

GC Men’s Tennis Gets National Team, Individual and Doubles Rankings
SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (9-4, 2-2 PBC) has been ranked No. 21 in the 2013-14 Division II Men’s National Team Rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Wednesday. Two Bobcat players from Germany also cracked the national rankings, one at singles and doubles, and another at doubles only.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College sophomore Yannick Hass (Troisdorf, Germany) has been selected as the Bobcat Athlete of the Week. Hass becomes the first men’s tennis player to win Bobcat Athlete of the Week this season.

GC Men’s Tennis’ Hass Named PBC Player of the Week
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia College sophomore Yannick Hass (Troisdorf, Germany) has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference Men’s (PBC) Tennis Player of the Week, while helping the Bobcats tennis team to a 9-4 record. It is the first time this season the sophomore has been honored as he joins three other teammates who have also garnered the PBC honor this season.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Next week, two of Georgia College’s nationally ranked spring sports programs will host “Meet the Bobcats” nights at Zaxby’s, including the on-location Bobcat sports radio show, “The Prowl”. GC tennis will host their evening Monday, March 31 from 5-8 p.m., while the Bobcat golfers will take over Wednesday, April 2 at the same time.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The No. 18 Georgia College men's tennis team (9-4) looked impressive against Davis & Elkins College (5-3) Sunday, winning 8-1. The Bobcats dropped their final singles match and lost the shutout.

#18 GC Men’s Tennis Falls at #21 GRUA, 5-3
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 18 Georgia College men's tennis team (8-4, 2-2 PBC) returned to Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action at No. 21 GRU Augusta (11-4, 1-2 PBC) Saturday at the Newman Tennis Center. After six points, the teams were tied at three, but the Jaguars took the final two to win the match.

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (7-3, 2-1 PBC) has been ranked fifth in the 2013-14 Division II Men’s Regional Team Rankings for the Southeast by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Wednesday March 20. Seven of the 10 ranked teams are from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC).

#18 GC Men’s Tennis Gets Fourth Shutout Over Tuskegee
TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The No. 18 Georgia College men's tennis team (8-3) have now won half their matches by shutout, this time with a non-conference match at Tuskegee University (2-9), 9-0 Wednesday at the Pepsico Tennis Courts. The Bobcats surrendered the fewest amount of games (15) since their first match against Morehouse College (14).

#18 GC Men’s Tennis Win Streak Snapped by #3 Argonauts
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 18 Georgia College men's tennis team (7-3) had their four-game winning streak snapped by undefeated No. 3 University of West Florida (15-0), 9-0 Tuesday at the Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex. The Bobcats faced their toughest competition to date in an Argonaut team that has more players nationally-ranked (five) than any other school, and that recently knocked off No. 1 Barry University.

Sophomore Yannick Hass (Troisdorf, Germany) defeated nationally-ranked No. 28 Laurent Galarneau in first singles action.

MACON, Ga. – The No. 18 Georgia College men's tennis team (5-2, 2-1 PBC) won a non-conference match against No. 22 University of Southern Indiana (9-2, 0-0 GLVC), 7-2 Monday at a neutral site in Macon, Ga. The Bobcats went 2-1 in doubles play and 5-1 in singles competition.

MARTINEZ, Ga. – Sophomore Taylor Powell (Martinez, Ga.) has been named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. Powell was one of only two Bobcats to win both their singles and doubles match for No. 18 Georgia College.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 18 Georgia College men's tennis team (4-2, 2-1 PBC) won their first home Peach Belt Conference (PBC) match to No. 44 Flagler College (2-6, 0-2 PBC), 6-3 Sunday at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. The Bobcats went 2-1 in doubles play and 4-2 in singles competition.

Waern Named PBC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
MARTINEZ, Ga. – Freshman Anton Waern (Taby, Sweeden) of Georgia College has been named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. Waern was the only Georgia College men’s tennis player to go undefeated in two back-to-back road matches for the No. 11 Bobcats.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 11 Georgia College men's tennis team (3-2, 1-1 PBC) dropped its first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) match to undefeated No. 10 Columbus State University (5-0, 2-0 PBC), 6-3 Sunday at the Mary V. Blackman Center. It was the second road PBC match for the Bobcats in as many days.

AMERICUS, Ga. – The No. 11 Georgia College men's tennis team (3-1) just missed a third shutout Saturday against Georgia Southwestern State University (2-4), 8-1 at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex. It was the first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) match for the Bobcats (1-0 PBC), while the Hurricanes fell to 0-2 in the PBC.

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (2-1) has been ranked fifth in the 2013-14 Division II Men’s Regional Team Rankings for the Southeast by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Wednesday, Feb. 19. Seven of the 10 ranked teams are from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC).

#11 GC Men’s Tennis Team Records Second Shutout
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 11 Georgia College men's tennis team (2-1) got their second 9-0 shutout of the young season Saturday, this time against Erskine College (0-2) Saturday afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. Freshman Kyle Kinsler (Suwanee, Ga.) was the only Bobcat not to lose a game in singles play today, winning in straight sets.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Sophomore Mattia Campus (Concorezzo, Italy) of Georgia College has been named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. Campus was one of two Georgia College players to open the season with a perfect 2-0 in singles play for the No. 11 Bobcats.

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 11 Georgia College men's tennis team (1-1) got off to a good start at No. 27 Valdosta State University (1-2) Saturday afternoon before dropping a 6-3 match for their first loss this season at the Blazer Tennis Courts. The Bobcats fell behind in doubles play 2-1, but got a victory from the first completed singles play at No. 5 to tie the match at two apiece.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 11 Georgia College men's tennis team kicked off their spring season against Morehouse College at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility with a 9-0 win. The Bobcats took a 24-2 advantage into singles play and lost only 14 games on their way to victory.

GC Men’s Tennis Kicks Off Season Friday
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College men's tennis team kicks off their spring season Friday, Feb. 7 against Morehouse College at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. The Bobcats start the season nationally-ranked No. 11 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the same position they ended last season. This year's squad features four returners and two freshmen, as well as four international players and two from the state of Georgia.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 96 Georgia College student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.
