  • Bobcat Athletics Puts School-Record 130 on PBC Presidential Honor Roll

    MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 130 Georgia College student-athletes making the list, a school record. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2013-14 academic year.

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 22 Georgia College men's tennis team (14-8) got off to a rough start before its rally fell short to No. 23 GRU Augusta (19-6) in NCAA Division II Southeast Regional play at Bacon Park Sunday. The Bobcats came out of the doubles round down 3-0, but took two singles matches before falling 5-2.
  • GC Men’s Tennis Begin Regional Play Sunday Against Jaguars

    INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its Regional Brackets last night with the Southeast No. 4-seed Georgia College men’s tennis team opening play against the Southeast fifth-seeded GRU Augusta, Sunday May 4 at Savannah, Ga. The matchup pits the same two teams from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Quarterfinals from April 17, where the Bobcats defeated the Jaguars 5-0.

Eight of the 10-ranked southeast teams are from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC).

    FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 21 Georgia College men's tennis team (14-7) couldn’t get by the No. 1-seed No. 14 Columbus State University (18-5) in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Friday at the Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center. The Bobcats finished 1-2 at doubles before dropping the match 5-1.

    FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 21 Georgia College men's tennis team (14-6) avenged an earlier season loss to Georgia Regents University Augusta (16-6) by blanking the Jaguars 5-0 when it counted most in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Thursday at the Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center. The Bobcats finished 3-0 at doubles and then took the first two wins at singles with the rest of the slate going unfinished.

The Bobcats fell to 8-1 at home for the season by an 8-1 score on Senior Day as they prepare for the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament next week.

The Pirates were coming off their first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) loss since 2009 and rebounded with a 9-0 win over the Bobcats.

The team has now won for the third-consecutive Sunday as it prepares for a grueling upcoming week that entails four nationally-ranked Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams in a five-day span.

    SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Georgia College men’s tennis team (9-4, 2-2 PBC) has been ranked No. 21 in the 2013-14 Division II Men’s National Team Rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Wednesday. Two Bobcat players from Germany also cracked the national rankings, one at singles and doubles, and another at doubles only.

    AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia College sophomore Yannick Hass (Troisdorf, Germany) has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference Men’s (PBC) Tennis Player of the Week, while helping the Bobcats tennis team to a 9-4 record. It is the first time this season the sophomore has been honored as he joins three other teammates who have also garnered the PBC honor this season.

GC tennis will host their evening Monday, March 31 from 5-8 p.m., while the Bobcat golfers will take over Wednesday, April 2 at the same time.

After six points, the teams were tied at three, but the Jaguars took the final two to win the match.
