SUMTER, S.C. – The Georgia College Men's Tennis team has a doubles pairing still alive after day two action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional Championship Saturday.
In Flight A Singles, newcomer Enzo Kohn's (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) singles run came to a close in the round of 32, dropping a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6(4) to No. 1-seed Eirik Groner of Lander University. Junior Jannik Kumbier (Neumünster, Germany) also came up short, falling to the University of North Georgia's Ryan Gaskin 6-4, 6-2.
Newcomer Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany) also lost his first consolation bracket bout to Lander's David Korsten, 6-3, 6-3.
In Flight A Doubles, Ecenarro and Moller picked up another win, topping Anderson University's Jeffrey Dayton and Hufelder Duarte, 8-4. Ecenarro and Moller advance to the quarterfinals, taking on No. 5-seed Daniel Belsito and Josh DuToit of Wingate University tomorrow.
Ecenarro and Moller will continue their road to the Flight A Doubles title tomorrow, Oct. 1 at 8 a.m.
