IRIVINE, Calif. – The Georgia College men's cross country team finished ninth among 10 competing teams in the ASICS/UC Irvine Cross Country Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Senior Daniel Horseman (Cohutta, Ga.) paced the Bobcats with an impressive 24th place finish. He completed the 8K race in 27:11, two minutes off the leader.
Classmate Colin Conroy (Dacula, Ga.) also ran an impressive race, finishing in 27:45 which was good for 47th place. Sophomore Philip Laskey (Marietta, Ga.) came next behind Conroy with a time of 28:30, putting him in 54th.
Rounding out the scoring for GC were sophomore Tucker Forbes (Lilburn, Ga.) and senior Travis Knight (Oxford, Ga.), finishing 57th and 62nd, respectively. Forbes ended the race in 28:53, while Knight crossed the line in 29:22.
The Bobcats finished with 244 team points, just five behind Glendale Community College (Ariz.). California Baptist won the team race.
The Bobcats will look to continue to shave off time as they travel to nearby Mercer University to compete Saturday, Sept. 17.
