by Alex Cooper, sports information student assistant
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced the men’s cross country preseason poll Monday, with Georgia College taking the fifth slot.
The Bobcats picked up one second place vote and one third place vote among their 50 points, finishing just two points behind No. 4-ranked UNC Pembroke and seven behind No. 3-ranked Flagler College.
For the first time in PBC history, there is a tie atop the poll. Columbus State University and GRU Augusta received the same amount of points for the tie. These same two teams tied at the PBC Championships last year, with GRU taking home the title on the tiebreaker.
The Bobcats get their season started with a dual race against Armstrong State University Sept. 5, their first of two home meets this season.
