MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Find Thunder, the Georgia College & State University mascot and enter to win a prize as the Bobcat softball team battles the No. 3 North Georgia Saints in a doubleheader Wednesday, April 1 beginning at 3 p.m.
The Bobcats continue to defend their home turf at the Peeler Complex and their Peach Belt Conference (PBC) ranking after sweeping Georgia Southwestern State University and Lander University in the last two PBC home twinbills.
During Wednesday's game against the Saints, fans are encouraged to participate in the "Where's Thunder?" raffle. The contest began today (March 30) at Sodexho, where fans began the hunt for the life-sized Thunder. Each of the three Thunder cutouts will have a clue that will lead to the next one. Once all of the Thunders are found, come to the softball doubleheader against North Georgia to enter into the raffle and cheer on the Bobcats.
"It's going to be a tough set of games," said head coach Ginger Chaffinch. "If we come out and play well, we should have a successful day."
The Bobcats go into the doubleheader with a 25-17 over-all record and an 11-3 conference record. They sit second in the PBC standings, just behind North Georgia (29-3, 7-1 PBC).
"North Georgia is one of our biggest competitors," said Bobcat ace, Mandy Chandler (Covington, Ga.). "I am excited about the game because when we play someone good at home it shows off exactly how good we are."
