Georgia College Softball Announces Tournament Schedules

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University softball team's tournament opponents are set for three upcoming tournaments this season.

The Early Bird Invitational in Aiken, S.C. is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7 and Sunday, Feb. 8. Saturday the Lady Bobcats will face the University of Charleston at 10 a.m., Limestone College at 2 p.m. and Kutztown University at 4 p.m. The next day they will take on Charleston again at noon.

Georgia College is on the road again to participate in the Catawba Invitational in Salisbury, N.C. Friday, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 1. The Bobcats battle Davis & Elkins College Friday starting at 6 p.m.  Saturday they will see Fairmont State University at 11 a.m. and Lenoir-Rhyne University at 3 p.m. They will finish up the tournament Sunday with an early start against C.W. Post at 9 a.m. and East Stroudsburg University at 1 p.m.

Later in the season, GCSU will travel to Carrollton, Ga. for the West Georgia Tournament hosted by the University of West Georgia. Georgia College opens tournament play with a full day Friday, March 6 as it faces University of West Alabama at 9 a.m., University of Alabama at Huntsville at 1 p.m. and University of North Alabama at 3 p.m. The Bobcats finish out the tournament taking on Delta State University at 11 a.m. and host West Georgia at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 7.

After the Early Bird tournament, Georgia College opens Peach Belt Conference play in Augusta, Ga. Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. against Augusta State University. The Bobcats' home opener at the Peeler Complex is Saturday, Feb. 14 starting at noon against Wingate University.

The GCSU Department of Athletics sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
