MARTINEZ, Ga. - Senior centerfielder Sherquita Bostick (Florence, S.C.) of the Georgia College & State University softball team (30-13, 12-4 PBC) claims her third Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week honor for the 2009 campaign.
Bostick takes her third weekly award after hitting .538 in four games last week with three home runs, six RBIs and eight runs scored. The senior went 4-for-6 in a doubleheader against Columbus State, homering once in each game and driving in three. She then tripled and homered against Clark Atlanta University. For the week, Bostick had a 1.385 slugging percentage and .571 on-base percentage. She leads the PBC in slugging and triples while second in home runs, third in RBIs and fifth in batting average.
The doubleheader against No. 3 North Georgia was canceled today due to rain but hopefully the game will be rescheduled for tomorrow, April 15. Bostick and the rest of the Bobcats travel to Florence, S.C. Friday, April 17, where they are the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
