Bobcat Softball Adds Miller as GA Coach

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University softball program and head coach Ginger Chaffinch would like to announce the addition of Kelly Miller as graduate assistant coach.

Miller will work primarily with the Bobcat infielders, her area of expertise as a player. She'll also assist with recruiting efforts.

She comes to Georgia College from Purdue University where she played as a middle infielder from 2006-09. While with the Boilermakers she was named to the All-Mideast Region Second Team, as well as Third Team All-Big Ten in 2008. Originally a walk-on for Purdue in 2006, Miller worked her way into a scholarship; earning the John Purdue Club Perseverance Award for the "spirit of determination" it takes to be a successful walk-on.

"Kelly has good experience coming from Purdue," said Chaffinch. "She will be a good asset to our team on and off the field."

Miller is pursuing a Master's Degree in Human Performance.
