MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College softball junior catcher Anna Parker (Columbus, Ga.) was named Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week Tuesday.
Parker enjoyed a sensational week at the plate, hitting .462 (12-for-26) with three home runs, two doubles and a triple. She also drove in eight runs while scoring seven herself.
Opponents showed their respect for Parker, walking her a staggering nine times in 10 games this week. On Feb.18, in a game against the University of Indianapolis, Parker belted a first inning home run and was walked the rest of the game.
Parker’s .600 on-base percentage and .962 slugging percentage lead the Bobcat squad.
She currently ranks among the elite in the PBC, as she is tied for the league lead in home runs with four. She is also tied for sixth in RBI, fifth in runs scored and fourth in slugging.
Parker and the rest of the Bobcats will hit the road for a double header against Brevard College today, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.
