MARTINEZ, Ga. – Georgia College softball (7-20, 2-2 PBC) junior Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.) garnered Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference office Tuesday, March 8. This her first player of the week award in her career at GC.
Burnett was solid in five games for the Bobcats this past week, hitting .583 with six RBIs. The junior went 3-for-3 with all four of her team's RBI as they beat Lander 4-3 in game one of a PBC doubleheader. She also pitched a complete game in that contest, striking out six.
She had another hit in the second game of the doubleheader and was 2-for-3 against Limestone, driving in a pair of runs. Burnett leads the team and is in the top-10 in the PBC with a .431 batting average and 25 RBI.
The Bobcats host a doubleheader against Wingate University Friday, March 11 starting at 3 p.m.
