MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) was awarded the Bobcat Athlete of the Week after her performances with the Georgia College women's softball team (30-12, 12-4 PBC) this week.
Gallucci was the game changer this past Wednesday evening in a doubleheader away game against the No. 19 Columbus State University Cougars. She only allowed one run and finished game one with two walks and eight strikeouts. The senior went on to retire nine straight Cougars from the plate.
In the second game, Gallucci came back as a relief pitcher, striking out another five batters and walking two over the three innings.
In 10 innings that Gallucci pitched, she allowed only one earned run and five hits. She walked just four Cougars over the two games and struckout 13.
Gallucci added another win to her belt, giving her 11 for the season, which ties her for 10th in the PBC. She also added another save for her collection, which puts her in a tie for the second most in the league. As a result of the win, the senior lowered her ERA to 1.21, third in the PBC.
The Bobcats will be back in action this Wednesday, April 10 against USC Aiken at 5 p.m. The match will be a home game, a doubleheader and a conference game for Georgia College.
