LeRoy Named PBC Freshman of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Freshman Abi LeRoy (Dublin, Ga.) of the Georgia College softball team (7-3) added another recognition after her stellar performance at the Triton Spring Invitational. LeRoy has been named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Freshman of the Week for softball.
LeRoy had great week for the Bobcats, both in the batter’s box and in the pitcher’s circle. She hit .545 with two triples, while scoring seven runs and knocking in five. She had at least one hit in all six games this week. LeRoy had a pair of 3-for-4 games, adding two RBI against Eckerd College and one against Florida Tech.
In the circle she pitched 18 2/3 innings, allowing seven earned runs while striking out 12 batters, with a 1-1 record.
On the season, LeRoy leads the league in triples, is second in hits and total bases and is sixth in batting average. In the circle she is tied for sixth in wins and her 1.93 ERA is 12th in the league.
LeRoy and the Bobcats will be back in action Sunday, Feb. 17 at Noon when they travel to No. 13 Flagler College.
