GC Softball Lends a Hand at Lockerly Arboretum
by Andrew Gahwiler, sports information student assistant
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Coach Jamie Grodecki and the Georgia College Softball team lent a helping hand at Lockerly Arboretum on Irwinton Road last week for the second year in a row.
The GC softball team volunteered their services to help clean up the Lockerly Arboretum. At Lockerly the team pulled weeds in the flowerbeds, picked up sticks along the trails, and helped maintain the trails.
"It's great a great way to show our appreciation to the community that shows us support throughout the season," said senior outfielder Whitney Horton (Acworth, Ga.). "Helping out within the community is a great way to show the freshmen what Georgia College is all about."
The GC Softball season does not kick off until early February, but check GCBobcats.com for the schedule release.
